CSR 2018 with Jouzour Loubnan

This year, Meker is supporting Jouzour Loubnan. With every Kitchen or Wardrobe purchased*, you will adopt a cedar and help make our beautiful country green again.

We have chosen to intervene mainly in arid mountainous regions as, on one hand, they are very often dismissed in forestation programs and, on the other hand, the benefits of such forestation are tremendous.

The success of our forestation campaigns resides in our commitment to ensure the appropriate irrigation, guardianship and protection of the trees we plant. This success can be difficult to achieve, more so in arid regions due to extreme weather conditions, lack of surface water, poor soil quality and overgrazing. In order to overcome the issues at hand, we devised a special program taking into account, for each region, all the technical and socio-economic aspects related to such complex environments.

PLANT mainly in arid regions

Increase the woodland area in Lebanon by planting indigenous species to restore degraded high mountain ecosystems and develop wildlife habitats.

EMPOWER local communities

Empower the local community to protect, manage, promote and benefit from the projects.

PROMOTE environmental awareness

Promote environmental awareness of our natural resources amongst younger generations, locals and officials.

Meker goes gold to celebrate its 50th anniversary

Since the beginning in 1967, Meker has focused on transforming kitchen spaces into intelligent, unique and practical work places while mastering the art of anticipating customer expectations. The Meker team – passionate and precise in their delivery of the perfect solutions and finishing touches – is always ready and eager to help make any kitchen dream a reality.

With this year marking 50 years of Meker expertise and know-how, the renowned Lebanese kitchen specialists are celebrating their golden anniversary in style. To pay tribute to this milestone, an exclusive evening was organized in the presence of the renowned culinary star Mr Nicolas Audi.

Highly appreciated in gourmet and elite circles, Mr Nicolas Audi and his team of passionate chefs crafted a buffet sensation for the event that blended the art of visual beauty with pleasure to the palate. Guests were given a treat for their taste buds, as they sampled a variety of dishes prepared before their eyes in the Meker exhibition area while also discovering the very latest kitchen furniture conceived and designed with passion by Meker master technicians. A selection of photographs from Meker’s production facilities was exhibited during the evening, allowing guests to put a face to the team of dedicated Meker experts and craftsmen.

The invitation drew a large gathering eager to celebrate Meker’s half century, which marks a new stage in the history of the leading kitchens and wardrobes manufacturer. The guests included many media representatives, bloggers, influencers, architects, interior designers and friends, who joined in the festivities marking a golden milestone and decades of strong customer relations. The surprise of the evening was the launch of the competition for customer number 50 to win a free kitchen. The winner’s name will be announced on Meker’s Instagram and Facebook pages. Follow them to stay tuned and discover what Meker is cooking up next.

CSR 2017 with KAFA

Support services to women victims of violence are still very scarce in Lebanon. Shelters, among other services, are only provided by a few civil society groups. This year, MEKER is supporting KAFA by dedicating a percentage of its yearly profit to KAFA’s shelter for women victims of exploitation and trafficking from all nationalities. With every Kitchen or Wardrobe purchased*, you will contribute to offering women a safe refuge and help empower them.

KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a feminist, secular, Lebanese, non-profit, non-governmental civil society organization seeking to create a society that is free of social, economic and legal patriarchal structures that discriminate against women and children.

KAFA’s work focuses on three main areas: family violence, exploitation and trafficking in women, especially in migrant domestic workers and women in prostitution, and child protection, particularly from sexual and gender-based violence.

“We all deserve a house with a kitchen”

With every Kitchen or Wardrobe purchased*, you will contribute to offering women a safe refuge and help empower them.

CSR 2015 SOS Villages

We believe that every child has the right to live within a family and to grow surrounded by love, respect and security.

The family-based child care model of the SOS Children’s Villages is based on 4 principles that satisfy the basic needs of every child:

The Mother

Each SOS child has an SOS mother. She is the main caregiver who lives with her SOS children and creates the homey atmosphere they were deprived of.

Brothers and Sisters

Each SOS child has SOS brothers and sisters. They share the joys of brotherhood and build with each other long lasting relationships.

The House

Each SOS child lives in an SOS house he can call home. It is where he can spend time with his family, share meals around the dining room table, and where he can sleep in his own warmed.

 The Village

Each SOS child lives in an SOS village. It is his first experience towards a healthy social life. He is offered support and assistance by the village director and a specialized pedagogical team.

CSR 2015 Campaign was a big success and we wish all these children a happy family life!!!!
